Finnország - 2003 - Üveg

Anu Penttinen, born in 1974 in Helsinki, Finland.

Anu is a glass designer with her own studio in Nuutajärvi Glass Village. She sells her own creations (bowls and vases) at her own showroom in the hip Design District. Anu graduated from the University of Art and Design in Helsinki and her art reflects her interest in the urban environment. She prefers to use vigorous colours and clear shapes in her designs. Glass art undoubtedly is the speciality of this designer. Her glasswork art is not typically Finnish at first sight. The traditional designs are characterised by simple and organic shapes. She loves metropolises such as New York and tries to translate the vibes of these cities, mixed with her Finnish background, into her designs.

Nounou Design was founded by designer and glassmaker Anu Penttinen in 2003. Anu Penttinen uses strong colours and patterns in her work, and this, in combination with the subtle shapes and soft textures, results in delicate glass objects, of which this rare glass object is a fine example.
