This impressive and stylish coupé was a car with very high performance, reliable and equipped with all the best comforts of that time. The impressive and at the same time streamlined design had an excellent commercial success. It is worth remembering that the 2600 Sprint had among its options (that could be requested for a fee) electric windows, air conditioning and leather interior. The 2600 Sprint “series 106.02” was produced in 6,999 units, of which 597 RHD called “series 106.09”. A large coupé for four adults intended for fast tourism, favoured in this by the power of its engine (the same as the Spider) and its torque. The style was the same as the previous 2000 Sprint, one of Giorgetto Giugiaro’s first projects for Bertone. The car offered here dates back to 1964 and has had only 3 owners since its origin. About 7 years ago it underwent a total restoration, then it covered about 3,000 km with the last owner. The body is very nice, without defects or rust, and is painted in its beautiful original Bluette colour which enhances the many chrome parts, also very nice. The interior was expertly redone by professional Italian craftsmen, using Connolly beige leather as originally and reproducing the original pattern and work. The wool carpet is of the best quality and is red as it was at the origin. The configuration of this car is identical to that used by Alfa Romeo in 1966 for the advertising brochure. It was photographed and attached in the photo gallery. Its mechanics and chassis set-up were completely overhauled by a well-known historic Alfa Romeo workshop in our area. This car is equipped with vintage radio and air conditioning of the Borletti brand, which needs to be refilled with its specific gas. The equipment of this car is completed by the precious Gold Plate issued by ASI. In the photo gallery there are also some photos of this plate and of the registration certificate.
