Mandau, or a traditional sword of the Dayak, the headhunters of Kalimantan, Borneo. With a beautifully decorated hilt in bone. Partially dyed hair (probably goat hair).
The sword itself is 62 cm. long; The blade is 48 cm, the hilt 13 cm.
Including the sheath it is 67 cm (excluding goat hair).
The small knife is missing.
The mandau is in neat, used condition. There are signs of wear. Please see the photos for an accurate impression of this lot. They are an important part of the description.
