Keris Grip Majom Isten, Kris Hilt Hanuman (1) - Buffalo horn - Ukiran Keris Hanoman - Bali, Indonesia
2nd half 20th century - Jó

Very nicely carved keris hilt in the form of Hanuman. Hanuman is the leader of the mythical monkey army and has a very important position in Balinese culture in Bali. This hilt comes from a Balinese keris and is very detailed, carved from Tanduk Kerbau (Buffalo horn) by a master in carving hilts from Bali. Origin: Bali (Indonesia), I estimate the age at the second half of the 20th century.

The height is approx. 12 cm, the diameter is approx. 4 cm. The beauty of this three dimensionally carved and open worked grip cannot be captured well on the photos.
